deserve more attention than normal. \u00a0When shopping for clothes and skins, look for detail&#8230;close-up detail. \u00a0If you zoom in and nothing is there or it&#8217;s unsurprisingly blurry, there&#8217;s more shopping to do!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most likely you will need to have some advanced settings activated to capture detailed objects and avatars. \u00a0Here are the settings I use when I need high definition on my photos:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.never30.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/resolution-high1.png\" href=\"http:\/\/www.never30.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/resolution-high2.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-842\" title=\"resolution-high2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.never30.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/resolution-high2-150x150.png\" alt=\"resolution-high2\" width=\"50\" height=\"50\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The factors that you should consider when you want to do a close-up are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your graphics card capabilities<\/li>\n<li>SL Graphics Settings<\/li>\n<li>The quality of the avatar skin<\/li>\n<li>The quality and detail of the clothing\/objects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\">Choose Skins and Clothing with High Detail<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-823 alignleft\" title=\"closeup-sharpentool\" src=\"http:\/\/www.never30.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/closeup-sharpentool.jpg\" alt=\"closeup-sharpentool\" width=\"179\" height=\"72\" \/>Here we see our model in the photo on the left with a detailed sweater, hair, and skin.\u00a0 The background is not too busy and won&#8217;t distract from the photo if it gets in the shot.\u00a0 On the right we have an excellent close-up.\u00a0 The detail in the skin was increased with the sharpen tool:\u00a0<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-822\" #ffcc00;\">Use the Sharpen Tool<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The sharpen tool can be a good method of bringing out detail.\u00a0 This skin was already detailed, but as you can see below using the sharpen tool on the skin and eyebrows and eye gives a more detailed and realistic photo finish:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-825\" title=\"closeups-highdetail1b\" 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Low Detail Settings and Skins<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here is an example of the same skin on the left with lower resolution settings.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The prim hair is not smooth, but more pixellated, and our lines are more jagged.\u00a0 Here are the settings used in this photo:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.never30.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/resolution-low1.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-839\" can see in the photo on the right where another skin was used on the model, the skin itself will make a huge difference when detail is needed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Adding Shadows<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s missing from the photo on the left?\u00a0 SL does not produce shadows under the avatars neck.\u00a0 Some skins may have this option but not this one.\u00a0 On the right I added a shadow by using the Dodge tool.\u00a0 I also bumped up the sharpness 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>Focusing In<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The model is wearing a gorgeous necklace.\u00a0 We wanted to make sure that anyone viewing this photo didn&#8217;t miss it!\u00a0 So I copied the layer and added a slight gaussian blur.\u00a0 Then I used the eraser tool to cut out the necklace on that layer which revealed the original layer.\u00a0 This gives an awesome effect as you can see on the right:\u00a0<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" title=\"closeups-necklace2b\"
