Creating and Adding Backgrounds
Creating Your Own Backgrounds
The size of the background depends on what size the studio is when you display it. The typical size is 600 x 1200 px. Below is a template to use if you need help placing images on the various canvas parts in your background. For example if you want to make sure that the mountains appear above the mid canvas section or you want to be sure the leaves in your background appear on the floor area, try using this template: Background Template
Using N30 EZ Install Cases
- Rez your case on the canvas, but close to the control center
- You stand close to the control center.
- Click the “Load Backgrounds” button on the bottom right corner of your control center.
- Click your case and select “Install” from the menu.
- After installing backgrounds, click the Background buttton on your control center (top left.) to reload them.
(If you have older backgrounds that are split into 3 slices they will also install in v4+. Using Background Mode 2 displays them correctly. If you use a combinatinon of sliced and full image backgrounds try setting ‘autobackmode’ in your settings to on. This will automatically detect the N30 sliced backgrounds and display them in Backgroud Mode 2 and vice versa.)
Using Textures from your Inventory
Backgrounds do NOT need to be sliced in v4+. Full images can be used and are the prefered method.
To add textures:
- Right click on the studio and select Edit from the pie menu.
- Click on the contents tab.
- Locate yotextures in your inventory and drag them over to the contents. (They need to be full permission textures!)
- After installing backgrounds, click the Background buttton on your control center (top left.) to reload them.
Note: If you have a lot of textures in your inventory holding down the SHIFT key will select them faster. Click the first texture, then hold SHIFT, then select the LAST texture. They will all be selected. If you need to deselect anything in between, hold down your CONTROL key and it will deselect. Also using your CONTROL key allows you to select various textures (or any item) in your inventory without selecting everything inbetween.
