THE MODELING TABLE PROPS

In version 1.6+, props were introduced.  Props are objects used in your photo shoot which enhance your modeling session.  The factory installed props are 5 chairs with poses, 2 sets of fire/flames, 9 couples poses, 1  group pose, and 1 mist.  To use these props, simply speak these commands:

  • /2 show pole1 –/2 show  red chair
  • /2 show  couples1 –/2 show  couples2
  • /2 show  couples3 –/2 show  couples4
  • /2 show  couples5 –/2 show  couples6
  • /2 show  couples7 –/2 show  couples8
  • /2 show  couples9 –/2 show  group1
  • /2 show  fire –/2 show  morefire
  • /2 show  mist –/2 show  male stool
  • /2 kill props to get rid of the props
  • /2 rotate and /2 xrotate will spin the prop counterclockwise and clockwise. (With the exception of the fire props)
  • /2 stop will stop the rotation

The rotation buttons and commands will also work with the props.

Now let’s say you don’t want to say that to use those prop commands.  Let’s say you want to say something else like this:

/2 mychair
/2 myhappychair
and so on…

You can edit the !!!N30_Studio_Props notecard to change the spoken command for each prop.

ADDING YOUR OWN PROPS

REMEMBER that your props MUST BE COPYABLE!!  This is an ADVANCED feature which requires you to have good knowledge of the SL interface and its* functions.

  1. Locate the object you want to use for a prop in your inventory and rez it. It should be copyable and modifiable. If it is not copyable, it will disappear when another prop is called or when you kill props. Then you will not be able to recover it.
  2. Locate the 3 scripts in your inventory called:

    N30PROPA v3.0
    30PROPD v3.0
    N30PROPRT v3.0

  3. Drag these scripts into the root prim of the contents of your object.
  4. Take the object into your inventory.
  5. Right click on the modeling table and select Edit.
  6. Click on the contents tab.
  7. Drag your prop from your inventory to the contents of the modeling table.
  8. Open the notecard in the Modeling Table called !!!N30_Studio_Props.
  9. Add a line to the notecard as follows:

    red chair;!N30_PROP_Red Chair;1
(Command;Name of Object;number in meters to rez above the table)

    Command
The spoken command you want to say to show the prop. For example /1 show red chair shows the red chair. In the example above, you would type ˜red chair* for the command.

    Name of Object
The actual name of the object you put into the modeling table.

Number in meters to rez above the table
This number is an integer which can be a decimal. The default is 1. Do not rez the prop to high or it will not initialize. You want it to rez as close to the table as possible.

  10. Save the notecard.
  11. Call your prop by typing /channel show ˜command*.

USING SHADOWS

Shadows come built in with the 100 installed poses.  To use them simply click on your modeling table while it is in use and select shadows on from the menu.  To turn them off, select shadows off.
